Project March 2023

In this report, RDM provides a copy of the map that has been developed for planning purposes and a report of the science, methods, and policy recommendations. The map developed is for planning purposes only and does not alleviate the need for a landowner to obtain a wetland delineation and Jurisdictional Determination from the USACE. The map developed as part of this effort is not intended to depict jurisdictional wetlands.

Project Comprehensive

RDM was a sub contractor to Askura Robinson to develop Comprehensive lan plan: The comprehensive plan examined all of St. Tammany Parish and help determine goals, including economic development, neighborhoods and other development goals, as expressed by citizens, business owners and organizations. The plan was developed after a rigorous 18-month collaboration between Parish government, appointees from each Council district and dozens of civic and business organizations. RDM provided environmental policy recommendations and recommendations on how St Tammany parish could become more resilient. The final “New Directions 2040” was, President Cooper’s Initiative for Sustainable Future” and was adopted in 2022.

Project Transportation

RDM was a sub contractor to CSRS who was contracted to develop a St Tammany Transportation Plan. RDM provided analysis of environmental impacts of the plan and made recommendations to CSRS. RDM also participated in public information and feedback sessions for the Multi-Modal Transportation Plan, in August 2023, to allow members from the public to share their experiences and provide input to shape the mobility priorities in their community and informing the public about the planning for the Multi-Modal Transportation Plan.

Project Wide Drainage

RDM has been leading a coastal resiliency plan for St Tammany Parish. RDM has partnered with Coastal Engineering Solutions to build a Resiliency plan that can lead to innovative and practical recommendations to ensure the parish lead on coastal resiliency. St Tammany sought to make the Parish coast and the citizens of the Parish more resilient in the face of disruptive events. The Parish accepts its responsibility to be a reliable partner in actions to ensure communities and the coast are able to withstand, respond to, and recover rapidly from disruptions due to hazards. A resilient coast will have an upfront Parish investment that requires less government and/or private funding to recover, rebuild, and redevelop after a hazard occurs. Sustaining natural systems that provide numerous benefits, improves resilience by providing ecosystem services that directly or indirectly support the St Tammany community’s survival and quality of life.
